Are you ready to broaden your horizons, gain a global perspective, and make lifelong memories? AU Abroad (IS 398) is your gateway to an incredible academic and cultural journey. This full-semester, three-credit course offers students a unique opportunity to travel internationally with university faculty and classmates while engaging in meaningful intercultural learning experiences.
Studying abroad is a life-changing experience that fosters personal and professional growth. Through AU Abroad, you’ll immerse yourself in new cultures, explore traditions, and expand your worldview while traveling with faculty and classmates in a supportive environment. You’ll build lifelong friendships, develop valuable skills like adaptability and communication, and earn three credits toward your degree, potentially fulfilling the Intercultural Inquiry requirement for some majors (confirm with your advisor).
Benefits of AU Abroad:
AU Abroad (IS 398) is a full-semester course offered during the spring semester. Students register for AU Abroad with their regular course schedule, just like any other class. The program includes a short-term international academic travel component, typically lasting 9 to 12 days. This immersive experience allows students to deepen their understanding of global issues while connecting classroom learning with real-world experiences.

The attached course/travel fee generally covers round-trip flights, accommodations, and guided tours. Be sure to review the full program details for specific inclusions and exclusions.
Eligible students can apply for an AU Abroad Scholarship of up to $1,000.00 to help offset the course/travel fee. Sophomores, juniors, and seniors (all majors) can apply for the scholarship. Freshman are not eligible for the AU Abroad Scholarship, but they can register for the class. Students can only use the AU Abroad Scholarship for an AU Abroad class (IS 398) one time during their academic career at Anderson University. The AU Abroad Scholarship is awarded based upon GPA and financial need by the financial aid office and is finalized and awarded by the Center for Global Engagement.
