Our accreditation
Anderson University is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award baccalaureate, master’s and doctoral degrees. Professional accreditation includes the National Association of Schools of Music (NASM), the National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE), the Association of Collegiate Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) and the National Association of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD).
Our reputation
Anderson University is among the fastest growing private universities in the country, according to the U.S. Department of Education and the 2018 Chronicle of Higher Education Almanac. Increased enrollment only tells part of the story, however; the reason for it is Anderson’s reputation as a premier institution of higher learning and status among the best regional universities in the South as recognized by both U.S. News & World Report and The Princeton Review.
Innovation is a hallmark of the Anderson University experience. Among regional universities in the south, U.S. News & World Report ranks Anderson as the No. 16 “Most Innovative” school and recently ranked it No. 3 in the state of South Carolina for having the “Best Online Bachelor’s” program – and the top such program in the Upstate. Further, Anderson University is a two-time Apple School of Distinction; only about 400 schools have received that recognition, with fewer than 20 being recognized twice. Innovation continues to be a strategic goal, and with that vision in mind Anderson launched a new Office of Technology, Online Learning and Innovation in 2018.
At the heart of the University’s educational program is an uncompromising commitment to the liberal arts as a means of preparing students with both a breadth and depth of knowledge they need not only to be successful in the career of their choice, but to be adaptable to multiple careers, and ultimately be successful in all realms of life – in work, family, community and faith.
