Academic Background

Katherine Van Drie is a multi-media artist whose sculptural works encompass, among other things, textiles, and ceramics. She completed her BFA at Indiana University Northwest and her MFA in Visual Art, with a concentration in Sculpture, at Clemson University. Her work has exhibited nationally at galleries such as Bridgeport Art Center, 33 Contemporary Gallery, Beverly Arts Center, and Zhou B. Art Center in Chicago, IL, as well as Echo Contemporary Art in Atlanta, GA, and ICOSA in Austin, TX.

Fast Facts

I teach Ceramics. My classes focus on the development of hand building techniques such as pinch-forming, coil and slab construction, in addition to throwing on the wheel. These skills are employed to create utilitarian vessels and sculptural objects.
