Academic Background
Greg Alewine is an Instructor of Commercial Music. He is a nationally recognized Jazz Bassist with multiple Downbeat awards. Greg is a veteran of the U.S. Air Force Band . He has performed with such luminaries as Dave Brubeck, Dizzy Gillespie, Michael Brecker, Jimmy Cobb, Freddie Hubbard, Chuck Loeb and Ellis Marsalis. He is a former Director of Jazz Studies at the University of South Carolina Upstate. Greg is a former faculty member at UNC- Asheville, Southern Wesleyan University and Clemson University.

Fast Facts
My classes are largely Commercial Music Ensembles, History classes and private Bass instruction.
I love the opportunity to teach smaller classes in a faith based environment.
We’re preparing the next generation of musicians for an ever changing career field.
