My classes at Anderson University are designed to be engaging, practical, and flexible, meeting the needs of both online and hybrid learners. In each class, students can expect a balance of theory and hands-on practice. We dive into the concepts behind data, systems, and programming, but we also spend time building skills through coding exercises, case studies, and projects that mirror problems professionals face in today’s workplace. I encourage students to think critically and to connect the material to their own experiences, whether they’re just starting out or already working in their field. Because my courses are offered online and hybrid-based, I put a strong emphasis on interaction and support. Online students participate in discussions, collaborative assignments, and practical labs that ensure they feel just as connected as those in the classroom. Hybrid students benefit from a mix of in-person engagement and online flexibility, allowing them to practice what they learn in multiple contexts. I want students to leave my classes with confidence in their skills and the ability to apply what they’ve learned immediately in professional settings.

I teach at Anderson University because it gives me the opportunity to combine my passion for teaching and mentoring students with the University’s commitment to academic excellence and a supportive learning environment. I can bring together the technical aspects of data analytics, programming, and information systems with the practical, real-world skills that today’s students need to thrive in their careers.
Another reason I chose AU is its flexibility and innovation in offering online and hybrid programs. This allows me to reach students from diverse backgrounds and life situations, whether they’re full-time professionals, international students, or recent graduates. I enjoy being part of a university that embraces technology and new teaching approaches to make education accessible and impactful.
Finally, I teach here because AU values not only academic knowledge but also personal growth and community. It’s rewarding to work in an environment where I can challenge students to think critically, encourage collaboration, and help them build confidence in applying what they learn beyond the classroom.

I wish prospective students understood that data analytics, information systems, and programming aren’t just about numbers or code. They’re about solving problems, making decisions, and creating value in every type of organization. Whether it’s business, healthcare, government, or education, data and systems are at the heart of how decisions are made today.
Another thing I wish they knew is that careers in this field are broad and versatile. You don’t have to fit into one mold to succeed. Some careers lean more technical (like programming, data science, or cybersecurity), while others focus on strategy and management (like business intelligence, information governance, or IT project management). There’s space for analytical thinkers, creative problem-solvers, and leaders who want to bridge the gap between technology and people.
I also want students to know that continuous learning is key. Technology evolves quickly, so success in this discipline means being curious, adaptable, and willing to keep building new skills throughout your career.
Finally, I wish students knew how rewarding this field is. You’re not just working with abstract tools. You’re helping organizations make smarter choices, uncover insights that drive change, and build systems that shape the future.

What I enjoy most about teaching at Anderson University is the students and the learning environment. My classes bring together students from a wide variety of backgrounds, and it’s rewarding to see how diverse perspectives enrich our discussions and projects. Watching students grow in confidence as they master new skills in analytics, programming, and systems management is one of the best parts of my work.
I also appreciate the flexibility and innovation that AU provides through its online and hybrid programs. These formats allow me to design courses that are both interactive and accessible, blending theory with real-world practice. It’s fulfilling to know that students can immediately apply what they learn in class to their careers and personal goals.
Finally, I find joy in AU’s supportive, mission-driven community. The emphasis on both academic excellence and personal growth creates a unique teaching environment where I feel I can truly make a difference; not just in helping students learn technical content, but in shaping the way they think, problem-solve, and approach challenges.
