Martinez is a vice president/commercial relationship manager for SouthState Bank in Anderson. He also serves on the Anderson City Council. He and his wife Hollins were co-chairs of the 2023 Camellia Ball, one of the largest fundraisers by the AnMed Foundation. He also recently chaired a successful campaign for the United Way of Anderson County.
Martinez considers being named to the AnMed board an honor.
“I consider this to be a very prestigious and a very important board for our community. I view it as an additional opportunity to serve,” Martinez said. “When we think about having access to the best healthcare in Anderson and being able to serve on a committee that helps make those decisions, I think that’s a great opportunity.”
Martinez, who grew up in Florida, came to Anderson University to study kinesiology and play baseball for the Trojans. While at Anderson University, Luis attended a career fair his senior year in which Wells Fargo caught his attention. After a competitive interview process, He was hired. It was there that he found that banking was a great fit because of his aptitude and work ethic. Through the years his banking career has led him to TD Bank and now SouthState Bank.
