Are you part of an Anderson-area church or non-profit who can use a helping hand this summer to accomplish a project?
Anderson University Student Development officials are soliciting applications from groups that could use the free help of students on Saturday, Aug. 29, or Saturday, Sept 12, from 8:30 a.m. until noon. About 500 AU students will volunteer to clean, paint, or perform administrative or other tasks at local sites in the community.
Since 2009, AU facilitates the community service projects to help its first year students gain a sense of community, learn about local resources and become aware of people from diverse backgrounds, says AU Director of Student Activities Sarah Mudd.
Last year, groups of 18-20 students served more than a dozen organizations, including The Salvation Army, Foothills Alliance, and Westside Community Center.
To register your service project, visit this link and provide your contact information, a description of your organization, a description of the project you would like accomplished, the number of volunteers you need and how the plan would change if it rains on the service date.
