Anderson University president Dr. Evans Whitaker has announced the addition of a new member to the Senior Leadership of Anderson University. Dane Slaughter, who has been in charge of facilities and procurement at Anderson since August of 2011, was named to the strategic group this week. In August of 2012, Slaughter was promoted to Associate Vice President for Facilities and Procurement.
“Mr. Slaughter’s inclusion in this team is a reflection not only of the critical nature of his role, but also of his dedication to the advancement of Anderson University and his proven effectiveness in a recently expanded job description designed to meet the continuously changing demands of a growing, complex, and expansive physical campus,” Dr. Whitaker said.
Slaughter, a graduate of Ball State University in Indiana, came to Anderson University from Southeastern University in Lakeland, Florida, where he was Director of Procurement in 2006, and Director of Facilities from 2007 to 2011. Prior to that, Slaughter held positions in the corporate sector in engineering, most notably at General Electric and Sony.
He lives in Anderson, South Carolina, with his wife Patty, who is the chair of the Department of Behavioral Sciences at Anderson University, and his two children.
