Program Overview

If you’re interested in helping organizations determine what their true financial picture is, an accounting career is for you. The Accounting program at Anderson University will put you in a position to help an organization understand the impact of its financial decisions, as well as help businesses price products effectively. Your studies will cover everything you need to know to pass the Certified Public Accounting exam, which puts you in a prime position to progress professionally as a CPA. 100% of graduates who have attempted the CPA test have passed.

The courses you take at Anderson University will qualify you to sit for the CPA exam, equip you for graduate school, and prepare you for jobs in business and accounting. In these courses, you will learn the generally accepted accounting principles that govern accounting. You will also study subjects such as taxation, auditing, accounting information systems, and inventory planning and control.

Because your study of accounting includes eight courses that cover cover auditing, finance, tax accounting, and managerial accounting, you’ll be in the position to progress professionally as a CPA.

When you graduate from the accounting program, you’ll be able to walk through the door of any organization and be able to handle most of its accounting needs. Anderson University graduates can build a complete financial picture of the organization from the day the start.

If graduate school is your goal, accounting at AU offers you an advantage in further study: you’ll be prepared for an MBA at AU. Programs at other major universities, such as Clemson, the University of South Carolina, and Wake Forest also regularly come to AU to recruit students. You’ll be ready for graduate programs in accounting, data analysis, supply chain management, and finance.
