Bachelor of Music (BM), Worship Leadership

Program Overview

The Worship Leadership program is for you if you feel called to ministry as a church worship leader. This track focuses on musical training through the intense study of piano, voice, and guitar. You’ll gain hands-on training in conducting, songwriting, technology and arranging, and receive rigorous theological training. Throughout the program, you’ll participate in various ensembles and complete an internship with a local church. You’ll be trained to build a varied worship program and strong relationships with the worship team, pastoral team, and congregation. This degree could lead to a career as a worship leader, music teacher, recording artist, or composer.

Admission Requirements
No previous degree is required to enroll in this program.
Official high school or GED transcripts will need to be submitted as part of the application process for this program. Transfer students must submit official transcripts from their previous school.

Two essays (prompts) or official SAT, ACT, or CLT scores are required during the application process.
Anderson University has a rolling admission process (students are notified when the are accepted whenever that is during the year) but students are encouraged to apply by the following dates: December 1st for the best scholarship consideration and no later than July 1st to begin in the fall semester.

Why AU?

Students learn worship design, including incorporating technology into the service. Through this program, AU prepares students as future worship leaders who will help people experience the presence of God in the community of believers in a local church through the arts and music, and enhanced by media and technology. We believe through the creative practice of worship we are reflecting our creative God.
