Nurse Practitioner – Counseling Services, Part-Time

Anderson University’s Thrive Wellness Center and Department of Counseling Services invites applications for a 9-month, part time (7-10 hours per week) position as Nurse Practitioner. Anderson University is an innovative, entrepreneurial, premier comprehensive, liberal arts university affiliated with the South Carolina Baptist Convention. The Nurse Practitioner will provide direct care for students seeking Thrive Wellness Counseling Services utilizing advanced nursing assessment and diagnostic skills and treatment options within a defined scope of practice and established protocols. This position works collaboratively with counseling and wellness staff and the on-campus physician in counseling matters and assists in assessing and implementing the department’s philosophy and goals, standards for counseling nursing practice, and the management and development of counseling nursing personnel. The Nurse Practitioner will identify counseling and learning needs and provide opportunities for student development, including counseling promotion and educational activities across campus, that uphold the university’s Christian mission. Additional position-related duties may be assigned to maintain efficient daily office activities.

Knowledge equivalent to that gained through a Master’s degree and three to five years of Nurse Practitioner experience in adult, women’s, or family health is required. A current nursing license in the State of South Carolina and Nurse Practitioner Certification is required. Current professional CPR standards must be maintained as well as demonstrated proficiency in the Electronic Health Record system. Proven experience in high-stress or emergency situations and the ability to handle sensitive information confidentially is essential.
