Everything we do is oriented around our mission, vision, and values. Our mission provides purpose, our vision reminds us of what could be, and our values serve as the foundation for our behavior.

Encourage and develop student interests through student body representation, club and organization support, and servant leadership.
Vision
Connect Anderson students to their campus and each other to foster unity, scholarship, and personal growth. Serve as representatives of the student body that help facilitate the development of organizations and build bridges between students and University Leadership.

Branches
SGA consists of an Executive and Legislative Branch that work together to serve the AU student body. The SGA Organizational Chart for a more in-depth breakdown.
EXECUTIVE BRANCH
The SGA Executive Branch is responsible for leading SGA, setting organizational goals, and facilitating communication between the organization and University administration. The SGA Executive Branch consists of 4 elected officials, 4 Directors who manage key SGA functions, and 6 Secretaries who represent key student groups on campus.
LEGISLATIVE BRANCH
The SGA Legislative Branch is responsible for serving as the direct representatives of the Anderson University student body on SGA. The SGA Legislative Branch consists of the Student Senate, made up of 32 Senators (eight from each undergraduate class), who approve new clubs, vote on funding requests and other legislation, and bring the concerns of their class to the entire organization.
Leah Duncan
Student Body President
Leah is a senior studying Human Development & Family Studies, with a minor in Christian Studies. From Reidsville, NC, Leah works on campus for Guest Services and the Office of Development, served as a Residence Advisor and is actively involved with BCM. She previously served SGA as the Executive Director of Operations and is excited to continue serving the student body and SGA this year!
D’Andre Hicks
Student Body Vice-President
D’Andre is a junior studying Vocal and Choral Music Education. From Walterboro, SC, he is an active member of Call Me MiSTER, serves as a Residence Advisor, a Base Camp guide, and is an employee at the SCSA Box Office. As Vice President, he hopes to foster a strong connection between the student body and Senate throughout the year.
Aubrey Hogshead
Student Body Executive Director of Operations
Aubrey is a senior studying Christian Studies with a minor in Human Development and Family Studies. From Bluffton, SC, she is an active member of BCM and previously served the Secretary of First Year Experience in SGA. She is looking forward to being a part of a team that is consistently trying to make Anderson a better place for its students, and bridging the gap between the whole student body and Student Government!
Camden Davis
Student Body Treasurer
Camden Davis is a senior studying Accounting with a minor in Math. From Charlotte, NC, He is an active member of BCM and the Business Club, and serves as an Alpha Leader and as a Base Camp Event Coordinator. As the SGA Treasurer, he hopes to continue to steward our funds well to further the mission of Anderson University and represent the Student Body while serving as a successful financial advisor to our clubs and organizations.
Chaney Bodden
Club Relations Director
Chaney is a junior studying Marketing. She serves as an Alpha Leader, on the Guest Services team, and is involved in BCM. As the Club Relations Director, she believes clubs are a great place to get involved and connected on campus. She is excited to give students an opportunity to build relationships and community within our clubs and organizations at Anderson!
Savannah Byars
Design Director
Savannah is a junior studying Graphic Design. On campus, Savannah also serves with an RUF ministry team and works at the Chick-Fil-A. She is excited about serving the campus she loves through art and graphic design. Savannah hopes to demonstrate the vision and goals of SGA through design, and bring more recognition as to how SGA exists to serve students better.
Skylar Bruner
Elections Director
Skylar is a junior studying Political Science and Public Policy with a double minor in Public Relations, and Campaigns and Elections. Along with SGA, Skylar also serves in the Admissions office. She previously served as the SGA Elections Director and is excited to serve again. She hopes to fill the seats in Senate and continue to make changes to the Elections Director position to create a foundation for the Senate for years to come.
Katie Koon
Media Director
Katie is a senior studying Communications with an emphasis in Digital Media. She serves as the Base Camp Event Coordinator, an Alpha Leader, and is returning as the SGA Media Director. As Media Director, she hopes to engage the student body through our social media platforms and is excited to share what SGA does with the student body by highlighting the hard work that senators and the exec team do throughout the year!
Galey McKelvain
Secretary of Campus Ministries
Galey is a sophomore studying Christian Studies. On campus, she is involved in RUF and serves as a Residence Advisor. Through her position, she wants to create better communication between the campus ministries and create a more unified student body through campus ministries.
Maitea Carbajal
Secretary of Diversity & Inclusion
Maitea is a sophomore studying Political Science and Communications with a Marketing major. On campus she is involved with RUF and BCM, as well as serving as a Presidential Ambassador and as an Alpha Leader. This year she is hoping to foster a campus environment where every student feels valued, respected, and included. She desires to bring the Anderson community together, regardless of their background or identity!
Harper Krimm
Secretary of Fine Arts
Harper is a junior, double majoring in Vocal Performance and Pedagogy and Commercial Music. She serves as a vocalist for AUthenticity, the AU Jazz Combo, and the Concert Choir, as well as, working in the SCSA Box Office. As Secretary of Fine Arts, she hopes to be an advocate for the Fine Arts students and participants, through assisting them in campus-improvement projects to better their experience at Anderson University.
Lauren Baskin
Secretary of First Year Experience
Lauren is a junior studying Biology with a minor in Biomedical Sciences. She is involved in CRU, the Anderson Science Association, and is serving for her second year as an Alpha Leader. In her position this year she hopes to develop close relationships with first year students and represent them well as they find their home at Anderson University!
Bailey Vennie
Secretary of Student-Athletes
Bailey is a junior Homeland Security major with a concentration in Emergency Service Management. On campus, he is involved in the Volleyball Club and works as an Anderson Area YMCA umpire. As Secretary of Student-Athletes, he is excited to provide a voice for the athletes of the student body.
Abby Patterson
Secretary of Commuters
Abby is a junior Communications major with a concentration in digital media and a minor in Marketing. On campus, she is on the sports media team and serves as the Historian for PRSSA. As the Secretary of Commuters, Abby hopes to make commuters feel more connected on campus through involvement in clubs, events, and campus ministries.
