The Kim S. Miller Family Enterprise Institute of South Carolina is pleased to announce the Philpot Law Firm as its newest member. Through a combination of educational programs, cutting-edge research, peer learning and robust membership engagement, the Institute provides family enterprises with the tools and knowledge needed to thrive.
The Philpot Law Firm is a family-owned legal practice with a longstanding tradition of excellence in serving the legal needs of individuals and families in South Carolina. Established in 1990, the firm specializes in personal injury law, workers’ compensation and various other legal services, with a focus on providing personalized and compassionate representation.

For more than three decades, the Philpot Law Firm has been fighting for injury victims. The firm spans three generations of upstate natives. It all began with I. Henry Philpot, Jr. when he started his solo practice in 1980. Irvin H. Philpot, III (Irv) joined his father in 1986 and they formed Philpot Law Firm, PA in 1990. Six years later, I. Henry Philpot Jr.’s daughter Elizabeth (Liz) Philpot joined the firm, followed by another son, Eric Philpot in 1998. With three siblings working together to serve the Upstate alongside their father, the Philpot Law Firm became a name and family that people could trust. In 2017, Irv’s son I.H. Philpot, IV (Bo), rounded out the firm as a third-generation attorney. With each Philpot that has joined the firm, it has been a natural progression to follow in Henry’s footsteps and two more of his grandchildren may soon follow that same path.
