In recognition of their outstanding academic performance, the South Carolina Association of CPA’s (SCACPA) awarded scholarships to four undergraduate students and two recent graduates of the Anderson University College of Business.
Recipients of South Carolina Association of CPA’s Educational Fund Scholarships for 2021-22 are Aubrey Coonce of Columbia, South Carolina; Jacob Demuth of Gray Court, South Carolina; Cidli Lily Lo of Spartanburg, South Carolina; and Mary Katherine Mahaffey of Simpsonville, South Carolina. Also receiving the scholarship were May graduates Colt B. Martin and Maggie Moree, both of Anderson, South Carolina.
The scholarships are awarded to rising juniors or seniors majoring in accounting (or Master’s Degree student) at a South Carolina college or university. Students must have taken at least one class in intermediate accounting or the equivalent, have an overall GPA of no less than 3.25 and a GPA in accounting of no less than 3.5.
As part of efforts to help bring talented candidates into the CPA profession, SCACPA awards these scholarships annually to support qualified accounting students at South Carolina colleges and universities on their journey towards the CPA credential. A total of 60 scholarships valued at $90,500 were awarded to students at 11 different institutions in the state.
