Venue Technical Director

Anderson University’s Events and Guest Services Department invites applications for a full-time position as Venue Technical Director. Anderson University is an innovative, entrepreneurial, premier comprehensive, liberal arts university affiliated with the South Carolina Baptist Convention. The University seeks a candidate with a strong Christian value system, lifestyle, and commitment to the integration of faith and learning are encouraged to apply.

Candidates should be prepared to manage the performance venues on campus, and to coordinate event services for both internal and external clients as well as hiring, training, and supervising student staff for technical support. Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to, maintaining the venue equipment in working order; provide appropriate audio and lighting support for all venue events within sanctioned business hours, however, may include some nights and weekends; and perform other duties as assigned to ensure Auxiliary and Guest Services achieves its goals and objectives.

Bachelor’s Degree with experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience is required. Basic knowledge of fire codes that pertain to the two main venues of RFAC, operational understanding of set construction, lighting, and audio is required. Stage management experience is required. Ability to schedule and maintain a student worker calendar to ensure adequate staffing of individual events.
