Security Integration Specialist

Anderson University’s Office of Information Technology invites applications for the role of Security Integration Specialist. The Security Integration Specialist reports to the Director of Information Security and Compliance and the Director of Information Systems and is responsible for assisting with the institution’s information security program. The Security Integration Specialist provides a variety of operational, compliance, and consultative functions to enable safe and secure information services across University systems. This individual will help design, implement, manage, and monitor administrative and physical controls to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the university’s information assets. Duties will include network security monitoring, incident response, and vulnerability/security management as well as risk analysis.

Qualified candidates will possess a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field and two years relevant experience. Preference will be given to applicants with a working knowledge of Kali Linux, Microsoft Defender Security, Microsoft 365 Administration, and other cyber-security related tools. Experience using network and system diagnostic tools and basic experience with scripting, programming, or automation methods is required. Strong oral and verbal communication skills to write reports, train staff and collaborate with other members of the team. Multitasking skills to complete tasks while monitoring data systems and ability to prioritize work and adjust to rapidly changing requirements and demands. Problem-solving and critical thinking skills are needed to respond appropriately to immediate or potential threats. Research skills are required to keep abreast of the latest malware threats and developments in IT security.  Must be available to work 40 hours each week and may require off-hour support to respond to security incidents.
