Anderson University’s Office of Development invites applications for a full-time position as Associate Vice President for Alumni Engagement and Major Gifts. The Associate Vice President (AVP) for Alumni Engagement and Major Gifts plays a vital role in strengthening the bond between Anderson University and its alumni network, providing leadership in developing and implementing strategic initiatives to connect with alumni, fostering a sense of community, and encouraging continued alumni engagement with the University. Through strategic and operational planning, the Alumni Engagement Officer will develop programs and coordinate events and activities that will engage alumni and assist in the cultivation of alumni prospects for major gifts. Key events will include Alumni Class Reunions, Homecoming and Family Day, Founders Day and A Day. Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Development and Presidential Affairs, the Alumni Engagement Officer serves as the primary contact for the University Alumni Board and alumni affinity groups and will effectively communicate alumni relations marketing plans that will help engage and encourage alumni giving. Additionally, as a key contributor of the development team, the AVP for Alumni Engagement and Major Gifts will develop an effective plan of action, to be evaluated annually, which strives to meet all University development and major gift goals, increasing alumni donors and major gift prospects each year. This position also serves as a liaison to the university, requiring face-to face interaction with faculty, staff, alumni, and the community.
The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree with a minimum of five years of experience in alumni relations, development, or a similar field; a master’s degree is preferred. Proven project management skills, proficiency in CRM software, marketing tools, including social media, and excellent communication and organizational skills are required. The successful candidate must be self-directed, creative, energetic, and able to effectively and appropriately work with confidential information. A desire and dedication to exhibit Anderson University’s Christian mission through all interactions is essential.
