Assistant/Associate Professor of Electrical Engineering

Anderson University (South Carolina) and the College of Engineering invite applications for a full-time, nine-month faculty member with a strong Christian value system, lifestyle, and commitment to the integration of faith and learning as Assistant/Associate Professor of Electrical Engineering.  The position starts in August, 2024.  Anderson University is an innovative, entrepreneurial, premier comprehensive, liberal arts institution affiliated with the South Carolina Baptist Convention.

Anderson University recognizes three paths for status in faculty employment: Annual Appointment, Professional Path, and Tenure-Track.  Annual Appointed faculty are hired as Instructors focused on teaching and learning.  Faculty hired in the Professional Path focus on teaching, learning and service.  After six years of exemplary performance, they may promote through faculty ranks and may become eligible for multi-year contracts.  Tenure-Track faculty focus on teaching and learning, service; and scholarship as well.  After six years of exemplary performance, Tenure-Track faculty earn tenure and may promote through faculty ranks.  All three paths are evaluated for mission fit.

Candidates should be prepared to teach courses in electrical engineering to include foundational electrical engineering courses, electromagnetic theory, power systems, and electrical engineering capstone in Anderson, South Carolina as well as online courses.

This is an on-site, in-person role.  This full-time faculty position requires an earned terminal degree (Ph.D.) in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or similar program from a regionally-accredited institution.  Preference will be given to candidates with backgrounds and teaching experience in power systems, communications, instrumentation, and signal processing.  All candidates must have a record of successful impactful teaching at the undergraduate or graduate level. Industry experience or substantial research in the candidate’s field of expertise is preferred.
