Assistant Athletic Director for Student Support

Anderson University and the Athletics Department invite applications for a full-time, 12-month Assistant Athletic Director (AD) for Student Support. Anderson University is a comprehensive, liberal arts institution whose 400 athletes and 21 teams compete in the NCAA Division II, within the South Atlantic Conference. Anderson University is affiliated with the South Carolina Baptist Convention and candidates with a strong Christian value system and lifestyle are encouraged to apply.

Reporting to the Deputy Athletic Director, the Assistant AD for Student Support will develop and implement academic and student service initiatives in support of all student-athletes. This position provides comprehensive administrative leadership assistance to all sports and support areas in the Athletic Department in conjunction with the Vice President for Athletics, Deputy AD, and Assistant AD for Compliance. Key responsibilities also include ensuring academic integrity by following NCAA, Anderson University, and Athletic Academic Services policies; developing the TROJAN Journey Program and promoting engagement and participation; creating appropriate individualized academic success plans; and instructing student-athletes in learning and behavioral strategies.

The successful candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree and prior experience with academic support; master’s degree and previous athletics experience preferred. MS Office proficiency required and familiarity with Student Information and/or Learning Management Systems; knowledge of NCAA rules and ability to effectively make data-informed decisions and maintain confidentiality of student information. In addition, must be able to work effectively with a team and also independently; strong organizational skills and attention to detail; and strong commitment to quality relationships and Christ-like service is essential.
