Academic Background

Bob believes English majors have the opportunity to pursue a host of fields.

“Because we promote in this discipline the development of writing, reading, speaking, critical thinking, as well as interpersonal skills, English majors are in high demand by employers that span careers in business, education, ministry, public relations, politics, law, and the list continues.”

He enjoys the opportunity for continuous learning through and with his students. “Christian higher education allows me the opportunity to teach English within the religious framework of Christianity. Through an integration of faith and discipline, I am able to explore the values and ideas of past and present literature in the context of Christian principles.”

M.A in English, Clemson University

I enjoy the family atmosphere at Anderson, where faculty, staff and students work together in a vibrant, collegial atmosphere seasoned by our Christian faith. I am blessed to able to share my favorite subject with students and serve as a catalyst for their growth as writers, readers, speakers and thinkers.

Has secured several grants, including $400,000 from HUD for community improvement and $20,000 from the S.C. Highway Safety Department.
