2019-2020 Excellence in Teaching Awards

Full-Time Faculty Award

Dr. Chuck FullerThe Boles Award is presented annually during May Commencement to a full-time professor whose character, teaching skills, and devotion to his or her students, as well as to his or her academic discipline, are judged to be exemplary. The award consists of a framed certificate and a cash prize. The award is sponsored by David and Claudia Boles in memory of their son, Michael Boles, who was a student at Anderson University. The recipient is selected by a committee of faculty and students.

There are many excellent professors at Anderson University, and today we honor one of them. Please join me in recognizing the 2019-2020 Excellence in Teaching award winner: Dr. Chuck Fuller. Dr. Fuller serves as Associate Professor of Christian Studies and Honors Program Director. Educated at Campbellsville University and Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, where he earned both his MDiv and PhD, Dr. Fuller joined our faculty in 2010.

Part-Time Faculty Award

Miranda BrakefieldThere are many excellent part-time faculty at Anderson University. Nominations for our part-time faculty award are submitted from students and faculty and the recipient is determined by a student and faculty committee. Today, join me as we honor and recognize Miranda Brakefield, part-time professor of theatre at The South Carolina School of the Arts. An accomplished actor, dialect/acting coach, and director, her stage name is Miranda Barnett. She studied voice performance at Florida State University, choral conducting at Furman University, and received an MFA in Acting from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
