Head Coach, Track & Field

Anderson University’s Athletic Department invites applications for the Head Coach of Track & Field. Anderson University is an innovative, entrepreneurial, premier comprehensive, liberal arts university affiliated with the South Carolina Baptist Convention. The University seeks a candidate with a strong Christian value system, lifestyle, and commitment to the integration of faith and learning.

The Head Coach of Track & Field reports directly to the Director of Cross Country/Track and Field. Duties include, but are not limited to, working primarily with jumps and combined event athletes; recruiting prospective students/athletes to build program; following up on academic progress with students; coaching event groups at practice and competitions; teaching athletes new concepts and ideas; assisting with practice/practice preparation, meet/meets preparation and assisting with equipment. Additional administrative responsibilities include managing the departmental budget, game preparations, community and public relations, fundraising, and other record keeping and documentation duties as needed.

The successful candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree from an accredited College or University and previous track and field experience in the jumping/combined events area. Current first aid and CPR certification and a valid driver’s license are also required.  Excellent organizational and communication skills, ability to work well within a team are required. Master’s degree preferred.
