University Photographer and Editor

Anderson University’s Marketing Department invites applications for a 12-month, full-time position as University Photographer and Editor. Anderson University is an innovative, entrepreneurial, premier comprehensive, Liberal Arts University affiliated with the South Carolina Baptist Convention. Anderson University is seeking a University Photographer & Editor to create engaging visual content. As the primary photographer, you will be responsible for capturing events, arranging photoshoots for magazine articles, faculty portraits, and creating digital/social media content that showcases the mission and vision of the university.  The University Photographer will ensure the digital asset management (DAM) system adheres to brand and organizational standards, appropriately naming, classifying, and editing files to maintain search functionality and access. Additionally, this position will collaborate with clients, the Marketing & Communication Department, and other university offices in editing, organizing, tagging, and selecting images to ensure brand-compliant photography aligns with defined objectives.

Knowledge equivalent to that gained through a bachelor’s degree in photography, Art, Communication, or related area of study, is preferred. 2 years of working photography experience and current portfolio demonstrating expert-level composition, lighting techniques, and post-processing is required. A working knowledge with Adobe Creative Suite, AfterEffects, or similar photography and editing software and digital asset management (DAM) systems is preferred.  Superb communication skills with the ability to manage deadlines, prioritize workload, and make adjustments as needed to meet business needs is essential.
