Psychology

The mission of the Psychology major at Anderson University is to provide students a foundational understanding of the science of psychology and its applications, in order to prepare them for their roles as citizens in the liberal arts tradition including graduate education in both research and applied programs or a career appropriate to a broad-based liberal arts education.

Prerequisites for Psychology Majors

To become a psychology major at AU, students must apply for admission through the Department of Behavioral Sciences after completing 60 credits of coursework, including the courses specified below. The required courses for becoming a psychology major at AU are listed below:

  • PSY 102
  • PSY 190
  • PSY 211
  • MAT 101 or higher mathematics course (with the exceptions of MAT 136 and MAT 137 )

*Students must complete the courses listed above with a C or better and have a GPA of 2.5 or higher in these five core courses.
