VIDEO: C.S. Lewis Monument Formally Dedicated

October 18, 2018
A bronze bust of C. S. Lewis was unveiled on Oct. 18, 2018 at a ceremony memorializing the prominent Christian theologian while honoring Dr. T. Walter Brashier and Mrs. Christine McKinney Brashier for their support of the project.

The bust is located on G. Ross Anderson Jr. Student Center plaza and stands as a reminder of a titan of Christian apologetics, Clive Staples Lewis. While perhaps best known as the author of the Chronicles of Narnia, Anderson University Honors Program Director Dr. Chuck Fuller noted Lewis’ prolific body of intelligible and imaginative literature that “helps us build a better worldview.”

Anderson University President Evans P. Whitaker joined Dr. and Brashier for a ribbon-cutting ceremony to formally dedicate the C.S. Lewis memorial. During his speech, Dr. Whitaker read one of Lewis’ most iconic and powerful quotes, which is inscribed on the memorial’s base: “I believe in Christ like I believe in the sun. Not because I see it, but by it I can see everything else.”
