Anderson University today thanked the Rotary Club of Anderson for a gift being used to fund annual scholarships for AU students.
“Words cannot adequately express our appreciation to the Anderson Rotary Club for its annual support and investment in the students of Anderson University,” said Wayne Landrith, Senior Vice President for Development and Presidential Affairs at AU.
Rotary Club of Anderson President Butch Hughes presented on Tuesday a $1,000 check to Landrith during the Rotary’s monthly luncheon at AU’s G. Ross Anderson Jr. Student Center. AU has hosted the organization since the Student Center opened in 2017.
“Rotary Club of Anderson believes the gifts we give have a far-reaching impact,” Hughes said. “Scholarships don’t only provide an opportunity for students to go to college, they truly change lives.”
Because of the support of organizations like the Rotary Club of Anderson, AU awards about $200,000 in annual scholarships, not including endowed scholarships, Landrith said.
