The South Carolina School of the Arts is pleased bring back a community favorite in musical performance, The Festival of Keys, on February 12th at 7:30pm in the Henderson Auditorium of the Rainey Fine Arts Center.
A must for fans of piano and organ music, The Festival of Keys is an evening of musical fun with the South Carolina School of the Arts piano program. The talented students of the South Carolina School of the Arts and featured keyboard artists will perform on multiple keyboards, often simultaneously. As is the case every year, the musical selections will cross the spectrum of musical styles and tastes, providing something for most everyone. In addition, the evening will premier work by Dr. Richard Williamson, Professor of Music, Theory and Composition, Director of Choral Activities.
Special guest musician David Kiser of South Carolina Public Radio’s On the Keys and an AU faculty member will be featured along with former and current music faculty of the School of the Arts. The evening will also feature a high school piano student of Dr. Lisa Kiser, Annabelle Yang. Anderson’s popular and talented piano ensemble Noteworthy will be performing as well in what is described as a “joyous celebration from the remarkable pianists of Anderson University.” The public is invited to a reception immediately following the concert.
Proceeds from the event will go toward scholarships for talented musicians who wish to study at AU.
Tickets are $10 ($5 for students) can be purchased by contacting the Rainey Fine Arts Center box office at 864-231-2080 to reserve.
