MinistryU at Anderson University is all about practical training for ministry leaders.
MinistryU is organized by Clamp Divinity School in the Anderson University College of Christian Studies, in partnership with the South Carolina Baptist Convention and LifeWay Christian Resources. More than 100 pastors and church leaders came to the Anderson University campus August 4 for a day of workshops and inspirational speakers.
Starting the day off was Don Wilton, senior pastor of First Baptist Church in Spartanburg, South Carolina, and author of books that include Saturdays with Billy: My Friendship with Billy Graham. Wilton spoke to the pastors and ministry leaders about what it means to be called by God into ministry. Wayne Bray, senior pastor of Upstate Church, Simpsonville, South Carolina, brought the day to a strong finish, according to Michael Duduit, dean of the College of Christian Studies.
Workshop topics dealt with evangelism, pastoral ministry, youth ministry, leading worship, women’s ministry, and volunteer recruiting and development. There was also a workshop on technology, which plays an ever increasing role in the church, as evidenced by the growth of video streaming since the COVID-19 pandemic.
Leading workshops were David Barfield, Senior pastor of Capstone Church, Anderson; Gracie Centracchio, Children’s director, Beaverdam Baptist Church, Williamston; Todd Adkins, Director of leadership, Lifeway Christian Resources; Lee Clamp, chief strategic officer, South Carolina Baptist Convention; and Anderson University professors Joe Wehunt, Tim McKnight, Kris Barnett, Kendyl McElreath, Marti Williams and Sam Totman.
The College of Christian Studies and the Clamp Divinity School offer academic excellence in programs that emphasize practical ministry training for a new generation of Kingdom leaders. Details can be found online.
