The Christian Coalition for Educational Innovation will hold its annual conference October 27-29 at Anderson University, learning from AU leaders about the innovation at the university that has led it to become one of the most rapidly emerging private, Christian universities in the Southeast.

Of particular interest to the group is the Mobile Learning Initiative at AU in which professors and students use iPads to expand the teaching and learning process beyond the classroom in specially designed courses. Anderson has become a national leader in mobile technology and education and was recently awarded a grant from the State of South Carolina to establish a Center of Excellence to train public schools in the use of mobile devices for teaching and learning.

The Christian Coalition for Educational Innovation—or CCEI—was formed in 2010 when Christian school educators gathered to discuss ways to collaborate on innovative teaching and learning methods. Since that time, the group has continued to work together to share best practices and find centers of innovation to visit for annual meetings.

In addition to meetings to foster the sharing of information between private Christian high schools from all over the country, the group will meet with Anderson University professors and administration to find ways to adapt the cutting-edge methods being used at the University to the private school setting.
