Anderson University is holding a 24-hour fundraising drive meant to give all members of the AU family the opportunity to participate in the annual event that celebrates the University’s past, present and future.

“A Day” is among the most important annual events at Anderson University. Its goal is to support students, faculty and campus programs. “A Day” is designed to remember the University’s past, celebrate its present success and impact its bright future by bringing alumni, family and friends together on one exciting day of giving.

“‘A Day’ is one of Anderson University’s most cherished celebrations, and we’re excited once again to invite our alumni and friends to join faculty, staff and students in support of this great institution,” said Senior Vice President for Development and Presidential Affairs Wayne Landrith. “Anderson University has never been stronger, and our mission more clear, than it is right now. ‘A Day’ is an opportunity for everyone to make a gift regardless of the amount. Our goal is 2,000 donors for A Day 2020.”

Before participating in on-campus events throughout the day on April 2, friends and supporters are invited to visit AndersonUniversity.edu/ADayToGive and learn about the many causes available.

Causes include the opportunity to support the first Anderson University Trojans football team, scheduled to begin competitive play in 2024; to help strengthen the Ron Blue Center at Anderson University, which provides Christian financial stewardship training to AU students; and to contribute to the Anderson Fund in support of student scholarships. There are 15 causes available.

For those unable to join in the festivities, the public is encouraged to ‘paint the town black and gold’ by wearing Anderson University colors, and to post notes on social media using hashtags “ADayToGive” and “TrueToAU.”

“In a little over 100 years, Anderson University has grown into a thriving, innovative and comprehensive Christian institution and the largest private university in South Carolina,” said President Evans P. Whitaker, Ph.D. “Anderson University is the special place it is today because of the men and women who have supported us along this journey, and we’re incredibly thankful for those who will continue to do so as a part of ‘A Day’ this year.”
