Calvin Davis, a recent graduate of Anderson’s College of Business, will work closely with the president, the vice president for presidential affairs and the senior leadership team of the Anderson University as the first recipient of AU’s presidential internship. The Lexington, South Carolina, native will gain valuable experience and a rare insight into the executive level of one of the South’s most rapidly emerging comprehensive universities.

As Presidential Intern, Davis, a 2013 graduate who majored in business at AU, will also work to complete a master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) at Anderson and plans a career in marketing.

“I can’t think of a more qualified person to serve as the first Presidential Intern,” said Dr. Evans Whitaker. “Mr. Davis has represented the University extremely well as an undergraduate student and will be an even more valuable resource in this new role. Not only will he gain priceless experience in working with our leadership team, but we will benefit from his talent, perspective and enthusiasm.”

Presidential interns are selected for their leadership potential, high academic standing while a student, and their understanding and love for the institution. While an undergraduate student, Davis was a Presidential Ambassador, working with the Office of Admission. He also helped organize the University’s first chapter of the conservation organization Ducks Unlimited, which quickly grew into one of the largest collegiate chapters in South Carolina.
