Part-Time Lecturer – Theatre Performance

Anderson University (South Carolina) and the Department of Theatre and Dance seek instructors for upcoming adjunct position openings in Theatre Performance for the Spring 2024 semester and beyond.

Preferred requirements:

  • Master’s degree (preferably an M.F.A.), which includes 18 graduate hours in the teaching discipline. 
  • Professional acting and/or directing experience.
  • Certification in Theatrical Intimacy.
  • Ability to teach Voice and Movement for the Actor, Dialects, Shakespeare, and lower-level Acting courses focused in the Stanislavski system and similar (Stella Adler, Uta Hagen).

Teaching experience at the college level preferred, but not required. A Bachelor’s degree and relevant industry experience considered.

Responsibilities:

  • Under the supervision of the Department Chair, the Theatre Lecturer will advance the mission of the Anderson University’s South Carolina School of the Arts to identify and teach the University’s artistically talented pre-professional students through instruction in a supportive, faith-based environment of artistic and academic excellence.
  • Teaching load would consist of two days a week on campus in Anderson, SC.
