Coordinator of Academic Success

Anderson University’s Center for Student Success invites applications for a 12-month full-time Coordinator of Academic Success. Anderson University is an innovative, entrepreneurial, premier comprehensive, liberal arts University affiliated with the South Carolina Baptist Convention. The university seeks a candidate with a strong Christian value system, lifestyle, and commitment to the integration of faith and learning.

The Coordinator of Academic Success will provide personalized support to students seeking assistance through the David Larson McPhillips Center for Student Success and will work with the Athletic Department to ensure student athletes have necessary academic support resources and assistance available to them. Primarily, the Coordinator of Academic Success will assist with accessibility student intake, develop and implement plans, and will maintain contact with assigned students throughout the academic year. This position will also partner with the Assistant Athletic Director for Student Services and provide accessibility services for student-athletes, to include a review of documentation, interactive determination of appropriate accommodations, and ensuring applicable faculty and staff are notified of specific accommodations. Additionally, the Coordinator will work with students and student-athletes on academic and life skills, developing future support needs, and teaching academic success strategies in a variety of formats, including in-person, small groups, or online. Campus programming or additional duties that promote the services of the Center for Student Success may be assigned.

The successful candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree and prior experience with academic support and/or accessibility needs of college students; master’s degree preferred. MS Office proficiency required and familiarity with Student Information and/or Learning Management Systems; ability to effectively make data-informed decisions and maintain confidentiality of student information. In addition, must be able to work effectively with a team and also independently; strong attention to detail; and strong commitment to quality relationships and Christ-like service is essential.
