Clinical Counselor

Anderson University and Counseling Services invite applications for a full-time, exempt, 9.5 month position as a direct care Clinical Counselor. Anderson University is a comprehensive, liberal arts institution affiliated with the South Carolina Baptist Convention. Candidates with a strong Christian value system and lifestyle are encouraged to apply. The individual will be responsible for individual, group, and couples counseling with Anderson University students. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Prevention and awareness programs for the campus community, interpretation of various psychological tests and assessments, consultation and referrals for adult studies, graduate, and part-time students, consultation and communication with off campus professionals, keeping up-to-date on case notes, and participate in weekly case presentation/staffing meetings with counseling team.

Educational Requirements: Master’s degree in counseling or related field from an accredited college or university. Two or more years of counseling experience preferred. Professional Licensure is required or candidate in process of licensure.

Candidate must have excellent written and oral communication skills, tact and diplomacy in dealing with students, parents, faculty, and staff. Individual must also possess the ability to work with minimal supervision and be able to work as part of a team. Ability to maintain confidentiality is essential.
