Associate Director, Center for Career Development

Anderson University invites applications for a 12-month, full-time, Associate Director of the Center for Career Development. Anderson University is an innovative and entrepreneurial comprehensive, liberal arts university affiliated with the South Carolina Baptist Convention. The Associate Director of the Center for Career Development (CCD) will serve as a key contributor in facilitating career development initiatives, most notably career coaching, career-readiness programs, and partnerships with employers. The Associate Director will develop and implement employer partnerships that offer internships and employment opportunities to students and graduates and will foster these partnerships by organizing events including job fairs, on-campus and virtual recruiting, networking events, and other career readiness programming. Reporting to the Director of CCD, this position will assist in the assessment of programs, working to advance various CCD initiatives and establish a comprehensive framework based on the NACE competencies and adult learning theories to enhance career readiness. Additionally, the Associate Director will provide personalized support and assist students in career development, facilitating workshops/seminars, assessment testing and interpretation, resume and cover letter review, help with graduate school preparation, and will cultivate and maintain strong employer, faculty/staff, alumni, and community relations.

Knowledge is equivalent to that gained through a bachelor’s degree in a related field and 3-5 years experience or a Master’s degree, and 1-2 years experience of professional experience in higher education career development, career counseling, or related field is required. CCSP, CDF, and GCDF certifications are preferred. Understanding of best practices and current issues in career development as well as National Association of Colleges and Employers guidelines, federal and state employer laws, knowledge and experience in creating webinars and utilizing platforms like Canva, Canvas, and Qualtrics is preferred. Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information is essential. Those who possess strong organizational, intrapersonal, and leadership skills are encouraged to apply.
