Associate Dean/Director of Diversity, Community, and Inclusion

Anderson University’s Office of Diversity, Community, and Inclusion invites applications for a 12-monht, full-time position as Associate Dean/Director. Anderson University is an innovative, entrepreneurial, premier comprehensive, liberal arts university affiliated with the South Carolina Baptist Convention. The Associate Dean/Director of Diversity, Community, and Inclusion plays a pivotal role in advancing Anderson University’s commitment to diversity, community, inclusion, and belonging. This position will promote a welcoming and inclusive environment for all members of the university community by developing and implementing programming and initiatives that promote faith, learning, and service to enhance the student experience. Serving as the on-site coordinator for the Call Me Mister program and I AM Mentoring program, the Associate Dean/Director will provide mentorship, guidance, and resources that support the academic and professional development of students, connecting them to mentors and building relationships with internal and external organizations. As an advisor of the Connect Club (Multicultural Student Association), the Associate Dean/Director will help plan on-campus events that celebrates and educates the university community on multi-cultural students’ experiences, providing opportunities for dialogue that promotes cultural understanding among students from diverse backgrounds. The role of Associate Dean/Director will report directly to the Vice President for Diversity, Community, and Inclusion, assisting in the leadership of the Diversity and Inclusion Leadership Team, providing administrative support as needed.

Knowledge equivalent to that gained through a master’s degree in Higher Education and previous leadership experience supporting diverse student communities is required. Proven management experience, proficient communication and organizational skills, a desire to serve as a role model to multicultural students, and dedication to exhibit Anderson University’s Christian mission through all interactions is essential.
