Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice

Anderson University invites applications for a full-time, nine-month position to serve as Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice, with faculty rank commensurate with qualifications and experience. This role is a full-time on-campus position based on the university’s main campus in Anderson, South Carolina, with an expected start date of August 2024.

Anderson University (AU) is an innovative, entrepreneurial, premier, comprehensive, liberal arts university affiliated with the South Carolina Baptist Convention. The university seeks candidates with a strong Christian value system, lifestyle, and commitment to integrating faith and learning.

A master’s degree in criminal justice is required; a PhD in Criminal Justice is preferred; ABDs will be considered. Experience teaching at the undergraduate level is preferred. Experience working within an accredited law enforcement forensics lab or crime scene unit is preferred. Screening will begin immediately and continue until the job is filled. Faculty rank and status will be determined at the time of appointment based on degrees, experience, and record of scholarship.

Building on a liberal arts foundation, the School of Public Service and Administration offers majors in Criminal Justice and Emergency Services Management. The department also offers master’s degrees in public service and administration, and criminal justice. The ideal candidate will have a specialization in forensics and criminal investigations. Criminal Justice faculty maintain a teaching load of 24 credit hours per academic year, advise, and contribute with service.
