All new full-time, traditional students to AU are required to attend a Base Camp Orientation session (excluding Adult and Graduate Studies as well as students reemitting to the university). For more information on Base Camp Orientation, check out our website!
You will receive a copy of your schedule at Base Camp Orientation. If you have questions regarding your class schedule, please contact your academic department.
In order to make your check-in experience as easy as possible, be sure to view your Trojan Trek status in your Self-Service account under “AU Apps”. Trojan Trek will show highlight any incomplete actions that must be taken before your arrival. Please note that incomplete items may keep you from moving into your residence hall or registering for future classes. We recommend that you check your Trojan Trek status several times before Move-in Day / Commuter Check-in.

An Alpha Group is a small group of new students led by an upperclassman (Alpha Leader) that is assigned to a First Year Experience Class (AU101). The purpose of the group is to provide support, encouragement, and guidance as you begin your journey at Anderson University. Be sure to keep an eye on your AU email, because your Alpha Leader will be contacting you a few days before classes begins and will start to organize social events and outings for your group.
FYE stands for First Year Experience and serves as a year long program designed to strengthen your academic skills and develop a clear purpose for your university experience. As part of FYE, first-time college students will be assigned to a 10-week class called AU101 that helps students meet fellow classmates and provides a perfect arena for questions and support. All new students to AU, including transfer students, will be assigned an upperclassman student called an Alpha Leader. Together, your Alpha Group will build a strong network for your successful college journey.
Transfer students who were degree seeking at another college and transferred in more than 13 credit hours will be placed in a specific Transfer FYE group. This Transfer FYE group will not be required to attend a weekly class, but will meet with an Alpha Leader and their fellow classmates throughout Welcome Week to aid in the students transition.
We recommend starting at the Bookstore’s website! You will be able to look up required books for each of your classes, see if they are available for purchase or rent, and place an order.
On Sunday, following Move-In Day at the beginning of the fall semester, students and their guest are invited to participate in a Matriculation Worship Service and the long-standing tradition of the Archway Walk. These events signify the beginning of a student’s journey at Anderson University.
Due to the popularity of the Matriculation Worship Service in Henderson Hall, AU now offers two different service times. The service times are assigned based on the student’s AU101 class section. AU101 sections meeting on Tuesday/Thursday, in addition to transfer students, are invited to attend the first Matriculation Worship Service at 9:00 a.m.; while FYE sections meeting on Monday/Wednesday are invited to attend the second Matriculation Worship service starting at 11:15 a.m.
Between the first and the second Matriculation Worship Services, students and their guests should make their way to Anderson University’s Front Lawn to take part in The Archway Walk (which will begin close to 10:00 a.m.)

New students (enrolled in a traditional academic program) will be scheduled to receive an iPad the first week of school. Your Alpha Group will be assigned a specific time block to collect the iPad and attend an Information Technology Session. This time will be communicated through your Alpha Leader (see #4 for more information on the Alpha Program).
