Academic Background

Paige does not agree with the characterization of English as a “dead-end” major. “Many businesses and organizations benefit from the critical thinking and writing skills of superior English majors.”

She completed her undergraduate education at another faith-based, liberal-arts institution. “Those were formative years for me and my faith, and I enjoy the opportunity to be a professor and mentor for other students during these pivotal years.”

Doctor of Philosophy in English Literature, University of Georgia

Master of Arts in English Literature, University of Georgia

Bachelor of Arts in English and Religion\/Philosophy, Presbyterian College

How would you describe your classes to someone who has never attended one?

A place where I do not do all the talking. I often challenge my students with a timer to see how long they can carry on scholarly, insightful literary analysis and dialogue without my input. I think they surprise themselves, and such contributions add so much to the class.
