Academic Background

Dr. Oscar Gonzalez is the coordinator of Environmental Science and an Associate Professor of Biology. He is a Biologist born and raised in Peru. He researches the ecology of birds in several environments. In addition to birdwatching as a profession, he enjoys exploring ecological interactions in all sorts of organisms. He divides his time between Peru, where he does research with Peruvian colleagues, and the US to get immersed in teaching. Dr. Oscar and his wife enjoy going outdoors and riding bikes everywhere.

The environment is worth protecting. The world desperately needs wildlife biologists and environmental scientists. We will provide solutions for a better coexistence of people and nature.

I organized the first academic meeting on ornithology in Peru and edited the first photographic guide to the birds of Lima, Peru. The results of my doctoral dissertation were used to justify the creation of a protected area in the Peruvian Rainforest.

The freedom to praise God anywhere, anytime. The faculty and staff here do their best to give the students a proper environment to learn.
