Academic Background
Dr. de Ruig has been invited to speak about his peer-reviewed research at various regional, state, and national physical therapy conferences. Most of his clinical practice has been in the outpatient clinical environment. One area of niche practice has been with chronic pain patients experiencing headaches, jaw, and myofascial pain syndromes. He enjoys collaborating with other physical therapists to discuss current evidence and best practices. He is married to a physical therapist and has two active boys and a Husky to keep up with.

– I have been a peer-reviewed platform and poster presenter at the largest national physical therapy conference – Combined Sections Meeting (CSM), sponsored by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) in 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025. – have been a peer-reviewed presenter and speaker at the American Physical Therapy Association South Carolina (APTASC) State Annual Conference in 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025. – I have been a peer-reviewed presenter at the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) Southeastern Annual Conference in 2024. – Voted 1st place/best 5 x 5 Presentation at the 2024 APTASC Annual Meeting, Columbia, SC – Invited Peer-Reviewer for the Journal of Visualized Experiments (JoVE) in 2024
