Fast Facts
I teach at AU because I have a passion for inspiring and supporting the next generation of helping professionals. I also love that I am able to share my faith in my teaching, focusing on holistic development and not just professional development. Our faith is our foundation and it should be incorporated in all aspects of our lives.
The field of human services is so broad. It is not just about counseling or therapy. Find your area of interest and expand your knowledge to become an expert. You are in charge of your path and can leverage yourself by furthering your knowledge with continuing education in areas you are interested in. This field is constantly changing and continuing education is imperative.
Licensed Master Social Worker, State of South Carolina; current Competency Based Education Specialist
What I find most enjoyable at AU is seeing my students reach their goals. For the majority of my students, they are adult learners coming back to higher education after a large gap in learning. It is rewarding to see their growth from the time the enter the program until graduation. I love the connections and relationship I get to foster along their journey as well.
Trauma focused therapy, assessment and evaluation, program development, children and family studies
