Teaching at AU

What year did you start teacing at AU?

2022

How would you describe your classes to someone who has never attended one?

My classes are challenging and require you to critically think about the topics in order to learn, analyze and apply key concepts. I expect you to draw upon your experiences in and outside of the classroom, in and outside of the business disciplines. For instance, when we discuss strategy, we might discuss personalities, human behavior, consumer choice, physics, socio-technical systems, neuroscience, and other multi-disciplinary topics.

I teach courses in the graduate and undergraduate College of Business Including:

– Capstone, Senior Seminar
– Strategic Planning
– Training & Development
– Organizational Behavior
– Strategic Human Resources Management
– Ethics & Business in Society
– Healthcare Policy and Structure
– Change Management

I spent 35 years in the military, government service, and in the private sector and owned several firms where I coached or advised executives. Often, I was trying to help leaders in their 40s, 50s and 60s, who were making a wreck of their firms, families, and their lives. I retired to teach college because I wanted to reach these people sooner in the career and life progressions. I teach at Anderson University, because Trojan Students integrate faith and business education to impact organizations and the world in ways NO OTHER business leaders will. Anderson Means Business!

Leadership, management, organization behavior, strategy, human resources, and ethics require that you desire learning, applying learning, and making change with a focus on performance improvement. EVERY job you will ever have will require you understand how humans interact and how to maximize their performance.

I enjoy being with really smart students and well-trained faculty, sharing and learning about how we live and act and make a difference, not just in the workplace and classroom, but in the real world and life beyond.
