Teaching at AU

What year did you start teacing at AU?

2023

How would you describe your classes to someone who has never attended one?

My classes are filled with community building and fostering security so everyone can learn to the best of their ability, contribute, and grow in their faith and profession. We try to cultivate a family culture in my classes where everyone has a voice and their voice is important to the content we are learning. My goal is to help future teachers understand the importance of caring for the whole child in their classrooms, so I model that in my classes daily.

Anderson University is such a Christ-centered community that provides support and encouragement, from the students to the faculty and staff, everyone is always welcoming and eager to get to know you. It’s such an amazing opportunity to teach from a Biblical perspective and to share your faith with and pray over the students. There is a real sense of community here where people become friends and family.

Teaching is the hardest and most rewarding job you will ever do – take the time now to learn all you can about your field and you content area so that you go in excited and ready to impact your students!

Everyone genuinely cares for you. Since I started, both students and faculty have checked on me and offered any support they could. Everyone has made this such an easy transition.
