Coming to Campus

When you enroll in the online nursing graduate programs at Anderson University, you’ll have the convenience of online learning but will also be part of a community that comes together face to face periodically for on-campus, intensive work days.

The frequency of this visit will vary depending on your degree program. If you are a student in a BSN to MSN track you will be required to come to campus once a semester during all four semesters of your program. If you are a BSN to DNP student you will be required to come to campus once during each of your first five semesters and once during your last semester. If you are a PMHNP Certificate student you will be required to come to campus during all four semesters of your program. If you are a MSN to DNP student you will be required to come to campus once during your first semester and once during your last semester.  

Meetings at university sites in Greenville and Anderson, South Carolina

Most meetings will occur at the The University Center of Greenville. In addition to classrooms and plenty of study space, this comfortable college campus environment features a bookstore, offices, and restaurants and is close to restaurants and grocery stores. Occasionally you may be required to come to our main campus in Anderson, South Carolina, to utilize other resources.

Hands-on skills practice, discussion and guest speakers

During your intensive workdays, you will meet with the cohort within your track. Nurse practitioner students will spend time in the simulation and cadaver labs for hands-on skills practice and assessment. Psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner students will focus on mental health assessment and management skills and simulations. Students in the nurse educator and executive leadership tracks will discuss various topics and hear guest speakers. 

Getting here

A detailed itinerary will be sent to you prior to each campus visit. If you fly in from out of town, you can arrive at the Greenville-Spartanburg Airport and arrange for your hotel’s shuttle to pick you up. A list of hotel options will be provided, as will ideas for where to eat.

This on-campus portion of the program is an integral part of your experience. We want you to understand that we are investing not just in your classroom experiences but in you as a part of the program. You will be much more than just a name or face. Our goal is to get to know you as you complete your professional goals.
