The Clamp Divinity School is named in honor of the man whose gift made the school possible. Though he did not live to see the school established, those who have completed our program stand on the foundation that he built through his sacrificial commitment to the cause of equipping church leaders. Clamp Divinity School is committed to being solidly biblical and intensely practical. To those efforts, it offers a Master of Ministry (MMIN) and a Master of Divinity (MDIV) focused on leadership. In addition, we have also established two Doctor of Ministry degrees; a DMIN in Biblical Preaching and a DMIN in 21st Century Ministry.
Master of Ministry
The Master of Ministry (M.Min.) degree provides a solid foundation for ministry service by focusing on the core competencies of pastoral ministry. While providing a foundation of biblical and theological study, the program emphasizes practical ministry training, with a particular emphasis on leadership in ministry. The degree program will be appropriate for a variety of persons, including those already in ministry who are ready for advanced study, and persons entering ministry who seek an effective preparation for hands-on ministry service. The program will also be of value for committed lay leaders in the church who seek to advance their capacity and preparation for service.
Master of Divinity
The Master of Divinity is the standard theological degree offered by most seminaries and divinity schools in the U.S. It is typically a three-year program, which follows four years of undergraduate study. This overview will provide you with a snapshot of the courses you will be taking to complete your degree. The Clamp Divinity School seeks to be solidly biblical and intensely practical. As you will notice below, we have selected courses which exemplify this balanced approach to ministry.
Doctor of Ministry in Biblical Preaching
Today’s church needs leaders who are effective communicators and artful interpreters of culture within a framework of biblical faith and fidelity. This pressing need demands an enhanced level of training that will help you more effectively communicate biblical truth within your own cultural setting. The Doctor of Ministry in Biblical Preaching is designed to enhance the practice of ministry among Christian leaders, with a particular focus on helping you strengthen your knowledge and skills in the area of preaching. Our seasoned professors will guide you through a series of seminars and a directed ministry project to enhance your understanding of biblical preaching and to further develop your preaching gifts.
Doctor of Ministry in 21st Century Ministry
The DMIN in 21st Century Ministry degree is designed to better equip pastors and church leaders for effective service in a shifting culture. This D.Min. engages multiple fields – from leadership and church health to pastoral ministry and evangelism – with an emphasis on “leaning forward” into the future. As cultural and generational change create ever greater challenges for churches and ministry organizations, the D.Min. in 21st Century Ministry will give you tools to understand how to lead and serve in a culture of change.
