Join Our Efforts
Did you know that, on average, someone must see or hear something eight times before they act on it? That's why we're asking for your help in spreading the word about A Day to as many people as possible. Because this is a University-wide effort to reach current students, alumni, parents and friends, we want to use every resource available to tell others about A Day and the impact it makes on the lives of our students and our entire campus community.
That’s where you come in.
We’d love for you to be active participants in telling your friends and family about A Day. To help, we're offering pre-made graphics designed for your specific cause. As you know, people respond to graphics. (Just how much? Studies show we mentally process visual assets 60,000 times faster than text.)
Thank you in advance for using these graphics to create your own social media content to tell others about your A Day cAUse. Share your AU story on social media and help others understand just how important Anderson University is to you.
Become an A Day Social Ambassador
Social Ambassadors are Anderson University’s influencers and digital leaders who create excitement by sharing engaging content about A Day before and during the campaign. Whether your preferred social media is Facebook, Twitter or Instagram--or if you're an influencer across-the-board, we're providing visual assets specific to each social media channel.
A social ambassador can do the following to be involved with A Day:
- Make your own gift on or before April 8, 2021. If you have already made a gift this year, thank you! By making an additional gift of any size on April 8, you can help us secure essential funding for what you love most about AU. Share on social media that you just made your A Day gift and encourage others to do the same.
- Use the available graphics and sample social media posts to create your own posts. Make sure you personalize it to your specific cause. In other words, tell the story of your AU journey!
- We truly appreciate your help spreading awareness within your network using your preferred forms of communication: email, text, phone, and social media such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Instagram.
As communicators in your respective areas, it'll be important that you ask those you think would be great ambassadors to get involved.
Our A Day hashtag is #adaytogive. Every post about A Day on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram should include this hashtag. We will use the hashtag on the day of the event to engage, curate to the A Day website and monitor conversation.
We should not use the term "unrestricted giving," refer to A Day participants as "donors" or their gifts as "donations." Instead, our social media content should reference "A Day causes" or "support your A Day cause." Those participating financially in A Day are "friends" who are providing "gifts."
All Instagram story graphics contain the phrase "Link in bio to give." Please make sure you are adding a link to our A Day website andersonuniversity.edu/adaytogive in the link in your bio if you use these graphics. It's important to share the link to the website in every social media post.
Personalize your posts
The graphics in this guide are recommended to use for A Day promotion, but there will be a lot of units using them. So, if you want to stand out even more, use those posts as a foundation to tell more about the cause your area is promoting. Tell your student stories. Explain how your cause will impact your students' experience. Why is your cause important?
