National Association for Music Education

The National Association for Music Education (NAfME) offers professional development through workshops, volunteer opportunities, and networking events.

Students considering a career in music education will benefit from NAfME’s professional development, access to exclusive resources, and the chance to build connections with the wider music education community. AU’s chapter hosted a speaker to discuss how to survive the first year of teaching.

Membership in NAfME provides students access to leading research and resources, such as webinars about composition, teacher evaluation and advocacy. Through this expert insight into some of the challenges and trends in the field, students will boost their knowledge and qualifications.

Members of NAfME also benefit from their connection with a global network and support system. When NAfME is on your resume, you are identified as part of a well-known organization, regardless of where you plan to seek employment; it establishes your credibility as a quality music educator.

Interested in joining NAfME at Anderson University? Contact Dr. David Perry, the music department chair, at dperry@andersonuniversity.edu or (864) 231-2076 to learn more.
