Communication Minors

You can choose between three different 18-credit-hour minors in the communication program. These minors give you the opportunity to explore key areas of communication and dovetail well with most majors and careers. 

The minors are comprised of the following courses:

  • Communication Studies Minor
    • COM 101 – Media and Society (3 credit hours)
    • COM 201 – Interpersonal Communication (3 credit hours)
    • COM 230 – Interpersonal Communication (3 credit hours)
    • Customize your minor by choosing an additional nine credit hours from among courses with a COM prefix (9 credit hours)
  • Digital Media Minor
    • COM 215 – Introduction to Web Development (3 credit hours)
    • COM 251 – Introduction to Video Production (3 credit hours)
    • COM 315 – Writing for Digital Media Communication (3 credit hours)
    • Customize your minor by choosing an additional nine credit hours from among courses with a COM or CDG prefix (9 credit hours)
  • Public Relations Minor
    • COM 101 – Media and Society (3 credit hours)
    • COM 320 – Principles of Public Relations (3 credit hours)
    • COM 321 – Public Relations Writing and Production (3 credit hours)
    • Customize your minor by choosing an additional nine credit hours from among courses with a COM prefix (9 credit hours)
