Have you ever seen a mile’s worth of Krispy Kreme donuts? Apparently no one has because the 1,043 attendees at Palmetto Boys State are seeking to make the Guinness Book of World Records by constructing one.

The attempt at the record, to take place on Thursday, June 11  at approximately 1pm at Anderson University’s Athletic Campus, is so unique; Krispy Kreme executives are coming down from North Carolina to take in the fun as well as provide the “construction materials.”

Organizers of Palmetto Boys State, celebrating the 75th year of the American Legion-sponsored annual training encampment for the State’s most promising rising Seniors and are taking aim at making two Guinness records – this one, and on Friday night at 6pm at the Thrift Library, a record for the most people wearing bow ties at one time and place.

This year’s participation in Boys State is an all-time record and it’s a good thing, because that’s a lot of donuts and bowties.
